Summer Training Camp
Join Raptors Softball coaches for a two-day training camp to learn the fundamental skills required to play softball! Raptors coaches will cover throwing, catching, and hitting. On day two those skills will be put to practice in a scrimmage to end the training camp. Register by June 10 to receive a Raptors Softball t-shirt with registration!
Details:
- Wednesday, June 19, & Thursday, June 20, from 5-7pm
- On Wednesday, June 19, the training camp will be at Douglas County Fairgrounds Field 3
- On Thursday, June 20, the training camp will be at Douglas County High School varsity field
- Ages: 7-12 years old
- Cost: $50/player
What you need to know:
- CHANGE OF LOCATION: On Wednesday, June 19, the training camp will be at the Douglas County Fairgrounds field 3.
- On Thursday, June 20, the training camp will be at the Douglas County High School varsity field (located between the high school and the recreation center by the tennis courts).
- The camp will run from 5pm-7pm both days. Please meet your camper at the field by 7pm.
- Please have your camper wear softball pants or long pants, cleats (no metal spikes), and a hat or visor. They should also have sunscreen, a snack, and a water bottle.
- Your daughter should also have a softball glove, bat, helmet (with a face cage), batting gloves, and a bag to carry their gear in. Let me know if you have any questions about gear!
Parents are welcome to stay and watch the training camp from the bleachers, but we request you do not enter the field or dug out unless asked to do so by a coach. There is a portapotty and parking available at both locations.
On Wednesday, June 19, Coach Nicole Beckett and Coach Gillian Schloop will lead the training camp and focus on baserunning and defensive drills. On Thursday, June 20, Coach Zac Bottoms and Coach Zach Myers will focus on hitting and situational drills.
